Australia's first 1 Hotel sits inside the heritage-listed Goods Shed No5 on Melbourne's Yarra River — the last of the city's original unrenovated wharfs. The glass-fronted exterior reflects the river's surface. Inside, over 7,000 plants, reclaimed railway timber bedheads, 2,000 salvaged bluestone pavers, and room numbers carved from old wharf timber make the sustainability feel less like a tagline and more like the actual building material. The hotel holds 277 rooms and 36 suites across the first ten floors of an 18-storey building; private residences fill the floors above.
