11 Howard
Scandinavian minimalist with SoHo grit. Art-forward, co-working-friendly, socially conscious. The mood shifts from calm and productive by day to seductive and nightclub-y after dark at The blond bar.
Free coffee at The Library is only available for two hours each morning — don't sleep in if you want it
Why It Matters
First independent design project by Anda Andrei (Ian Schrager's longtime collaborator), built with Danish firm Space Copenhagen. Le Coucou — the hotel's French restaurant from Stephen Starr and Daniel Rose — holds a Michelin star. The on-site HigherDOSE spa occupies five converted hotel rooms as private infrared sauna suites with their own showers. Art collection includes works by Hiroshi Sugimoto, Katie Yang, and Dan Attoe.
11 Howard is a 207-room boutique hotel at the corner of Howard and Lafayette Streets in SoHo. Designed by architect Anda Andrei in collaboration with Danish firm Space Copenhagen, it's her first independent project after decades designing Ian Schrager's boutique hotels. The result is Danish minimalism meeting New York realism — light oak floors, 11-foot ceilings, a serious art collection, and a Michelin-starred French restaurant downstairs. They call their philosophy 'conscious hospitality,' which means passing a share of revenue to charities like the Global Poverty Project.

Explore SoHo's streets on one of the hotel's Boosted electric skateboards. Bring shoes that can handle a board.
On-site creative meeting space for private events and working sessions. The blond and the Terrace Suite are also available for private hire.
The second-floor Library is set up for serious co-working: plentiful tables, chairs, plaster walls, wide-plank floors, and rugs collected from around the world. Regularly attracts local artists, filmmakers, and creative professionals. Free morning coffee for hotel guests.
