1477 Reichhalter
Shabby-chic Alpine Gasthaus meets mid-century Italian design. Raw plaster walls, chalked whites, copper greens, soft greys. Honest, unfussy, deeply considered.

Why It Matters
One of the most talked-about small hotels in South Tyrol — covered by Vogue, Elle, Condé Nast Traveler, Monocle, and Die Zeit. The restaurant operates at near Michelin-star level and won a Monocle World's Best Restaurant Award in 2019. Only 8 rooms, each named after a chapter in the building's 500-year history. Family-owned by the Dissertori family, who also run Hotel Schwarzschmied 350m away.
A 500-year-old building right in Lana's pedestrian zone, reimagined as a tight, deliberate boutique hotel with just 8 rooms. The structure has been a butcher's shop, bakery, sawmill, barn, and tavern — and those past lives are present everywhere: in the creaking floorboards, exposed plaster layers, and ornate old door locks. Owner Klaus Dissertori brought in South Tyrolean architect Zeno Bampi and interior designer Christina Biasi-von Berg, who layered mid-century modern pieces, Italian antiques, and flea-market finds against the raw historic bones. The restaurant won a Monocle Restaurant Award and holds three Gault & Millau toques.
