Why It Matters
25hours' debut in Italy, set inside a genuine historic monastery block. Cecchini in Città — the Florence outpost of legendary Panzano butcher Dario Cecchini — is the restaurant anchor. The Casetta del Giardino is a 200sqm private apartment with a pool, pizza oven and BBQ hidden inside the hotel's walled garden. Free minibar, free sauna, free bike rental and free Cinema Paradiso screenings are all included for guests.
The 25hours brand's first Italian hotel occupies a sprawling former 13th-century monastery turned Florentine pawnshop — the Monte dei Pegni — near the Santa Maria Novella district. Designer Paola Navone ran entirely with a Dante's Divine Comedy theme: rooms are split between Paradiso (white, ethereal, soft) and Inferno (bold red, pitch-black fixtures, snake-like lamps). The result is theatrical and genuinely fun, and surprisingly at home in a city that already has a lot to say about heaven and hell.

An entirely separate 200sqm apartment hidden in the hotel's walled garden, with its own private entrance from Piazza Ognissanti. Includes a private pool, terrace, fully equipped kitchen with a pizza oven and BBQ, and a dining table for 14. Sleeps two as a residence but can host serious gatherings. Also bookable as a daytime garden lounge (€30/person, April–October) for guests and non-guests.
