4F takes its name from its address: the entire fourth floor of a grand 19th-century palazzo right on the Lungarno Vespucci. All 14 rooms face outward, which means river views, hill views, or both — and the guests-only rooftop terrace delivers a 360° panorama with Brunelleschi's dome sitting squarely in the background. Conceived by three Florentine locals who wanted something that felt less like a tourist hotel and more like a friend's well-appointed apartment, it pulls off that trick with bold saturated colors, restored European-era furniture, and striking black-and-white stone bathrooms.

Junior Suite
The Junior Suites are larger than the standard rooms and share the same bold, era-mixing design language. Higher ceilings, sash windows, and a more generous footprint make them the pick for a longer stay or anyone who wants a bit more breathing room. Same striking stone bathrooms. Expect similar amenities to the standard rooms with added space and potentially more pronounced views.
Standard Double Room
Each room is painted its own distinct color — teal-blue, terracotta red, forest green and more — and furnished with a mix of restored period pieces and contemporary elements. Ergonomic beds face the exterior, some with views toward the Arno and its riverbanks, others toward the hills of Bellosguardo. Artisanal rattan headboards add warmth in certain rooms. The shower-equipped bathrooms are a genuine standout: black-and-white stone cladding gives them real presence. Some rooms include a Juliet window. Note that some of the smaller rooms are genuinely compact, though the beds are consistently praised.
