Monterosa
Mountain glow-getter. Modern Alpine architecture with warm interiors — wood panelling, bouclé textiles, soft lighting — that contrast sharply with the concrete-and-metal exterior. Active by day, restorative by night.
Spa access is capped at 1 hour per day for hotel guests and must be pre-booked — book as soon as you check in
Why It Matters
World's first hotel with an exterior 12-metre ice wall. Holds 1 Michelin Key (awarded 2026). B-Corp certified. Runs The Doping, a cocktail bar transplanted from Milan's nightlife scene, inside an Alpine hotel. The dining concept at 1568 (winter only) applies Japanese techniques to Italian Alpine ingredients.
A contemporary all-suite alpine hotel that pulls off a rare trick: it feels like a serious activity hub and a proper retreat at the same time. The building is deliberately un-chalet-like — angular rooflines, exposed concrete, weathered metal, and a lot of glass — positioned midway between the Champoluc and Frachey ski lifts in the less-crowded Monterosa ski area. A lobby climbing wall and a 12-metre exterior ice wall (the world's first at a hotel) tell you exactly what kind of place this is. But then you discover the 25-metre indoor lap pool framed by floor-to-ceiling windows, the wood-fired outdoor sauna, and suites built entirely around the mountain view, and the balance clicks. Earned 1 Michelin Key in 2026.
