Ahãma
Barefoot bohemian luxury — Japanese wabi-sabi meets ancient Lycian spirit. Slow, intentional, eco-sensitive. The anti-resort resort. Strong musical and arts programming gives it a creative edge that pure wellness retreats often lack.
The hotel is seasonal, open June 1 – October 31. Book well ahead for July and August.
Why It Matters
One Michelin Key. Relais & Châteaux member. Set within a protected 20-hectare liquidambar forest on a private bay. No TVs in any room. Four distinct restaurant concepts including the adults-only Ēge Umi (Aegean-Japanese). Sound Temple by Héctor Esrawe. One of Turkey's most design-forward new openings.
Ahãma sits on its own sheltered bay in Fethiye's Günlüklü Koyu, wrapped inside a 20-hectare protected forest of rare oriental sweetgum trees that the ancient Lycians considered sacred. The name means 'beloved' in Lycian, and the whole place carries that weight — considered, cared for, quietly exceptional. Sixty rooms across cabanas, guest houses, and one standalone villa are designed in an earthy wabi-sabi language: jute, stone, linen, wood, no TVs anywhere. There are four restaurants, a Sound Temple designed by Mexican architect Héctor Esrawe, and a wellness calendar that runs from sunrise yoga to shamanic ritual ceremonies.
