Why It Matters
Piero Lissoni's only Middle East resort design, and one of the few luxury properties in Ajman — a less-developed emirate that deliberately trades Dubai's maximalism for natural quiet. The resort was originally operated as The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah, and is part of a master development by Solidere International and the Ajman government.
A five-star beach resort on the Arabian Gulf coast of Ajman — the smallest of the UAE's seven emirates — designed by Italian architect Piero Lissoni. Pure white stucco volumes step across three terraced platforms facing the ocean, flanked by reflecting pools at the lobby and an 85-metre temperature-controlled pool at the centre. The whole thing sits inside a one-million-square-metre protected mangrove wetland teeming with flamingos, kingfishers, and osprey. Dubai is 45 minutes away, which means you get the calm without the commute.
