Alma Barcelona
Minimalist luxury. Think pared-down elegance rather than maximalist grandeur. Clean lines, neutral tones of grey, brown and sky blue, smart mood lighting, and a calm that feels almost residential. Design-forward but never cold.

Why It Matters
One of Barcelona's genuinely rare examples of a luxury hotel with a surviving 19th-century interior block garden — a green courtyard that anchors the restaurant, the bar, and the entire mood of the place. Add fingerprint door entry, custom AlmaHotels mattresses, and a spa included in every room rate, and this is a hotel with a clear point of view.
A five-star hotel in a singular early 20th-century Eixample building, one block from La Pedrera and a short walk from Passeig de Gràcia. The architecture is genuinely beautiful — a dramatic interior atrium of stone and glass — and the 72 rooms lean hard into restrained minimalism: neutral palette, clean lines, zero fuss. The real secret is the Jardín del Alma, one of the very few surviving interior block gardens from Ildefons Cerdà's original 1860 Barcelona plan. Most of those green spaces were built over. This one wasn't.
