Why It Matters
One of just four Three-Key Michelin hotels in New York City. The Crown Building was formerly the first home of the Museum of Modern Art and has stood at the corner of Fifth and 57th since 1921. Aman New York is the brand's first urban property in the United States, and arguably the most expensive city hotel in the country. Its 25,000-square-foot three-floor spa — including a 65-foot indoor pool and two private Spa Houses — sets a new benchmark for wellness in Manhattan.
Aman New York occupies the top floors of the landmarked Crown Building — the century-old gilt-crowned tower at 57th Street and Fifth Avenue — and delivers the brand's signature sense of seclusion inside one of the world's busiest cities. All 83 suites are among the largest hotel rooms in Manhattan, each with a working fireplace, deep soaking tub, and Japanese-influenced interiors designed by Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston. The restaurants, spa, and bars are almost entirely private — off-limits to anyone not staying here or holding an Aman Club membership.
