Rosa Alpina
Minimalist Alpine — the quiet luxury Aman is known for applied to a heritage Tyrolean inn. Warm, cocooning rooms with serious mountain views, a dining programme that swings from Italian grill to Japanese Shabu Shabu, and an overwhelming sense that nothing here is rushed.
Book the outdoor infinity pool at dawn for the alpenglühen — the reddish-pink alpenglow on the Dolomite peaks at sunrise is genuinely spectacular from the water
Why It Matters
This was the beloved Rosa Alpina — a multigenerational family hotel that once housed a three-Michelin-star restaurant. Aman acquired it, closed it for a deep renovation, and has now reopened it as a fully fledged Aman resort. It's a rare case of a genuinely historic property making the transition to the Aman canon without losing its soul. The outdoor infinity pool at dawn, with the Dolomite peaks igniting in alpenglow, is legitimately one of the great spa moments in Europe.
A 1930s Dolomites mountain lodge that was already one of Italy's most beloved alpine hotels — now fully reborn as an Aman. The Pizzinini family's Rosa Alpina, which opened in 1939, went through an extensive renovation led by architect Jean-Michel Gathy before reopening in summer 2025 as Aman's second Italian property. Gathy kept the chalet exterior intact while transforming the interiors: pale timber, natural stone, glass-enclosed fireplaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows that pull the peaks right into every room. The 51 rooms and suites are generous across the board, and the two-level Aman Spa with its 20-metre outdoor infinity pool delivers one of the most dramatic mountain wellness experiences in the Alps.
