Pure Hill Hotels & Resorts Jeju
Minimalist nature-first luxury. Quiet, intentional, and serious about wellness. Bulgari toiletries and a 100-inch projector sit alongside ondol floors and outdoor onsen baths. The whole resort is positioned as a slow-down destination — not a party hotel.
Buffet dinner is closed on Mondays — plan accordingly or book The Stone lounge for your Monday evening instead
Why It Matters
The architecture-as-subtraction philosophy is genuinely rare: rooms follow the ridge rather than commanding it, and the Pure Sky Pool sits on a transparent floor looking out over the whole of Jeju. The community building was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, modeled on Jeju's Jusangjeolli columnar joints. Dinner buffet at Salle runs ₩118,000-₩145,000 per adult.
Amber Purehill sits at 520 metres above sea level on the Eoseungsaengak ridge of Hallasan Mountain — genuinely high up, and genuinely remote. The whole place was designed around what the architects call subtraction: low buildings that follow the land's contours, windows placed where the eye naturally lands, nothing added that doesn't earn its spot. 122 rooms across three zones (Forest, Hill, Green Valley) give guests options ranging from thatched-roof jacuzzi doubles to loft-style family villas with private pools. It's 15 minutes from Jeju Airport but feels much further away.
