Amigo Motor Lodge
Retro-modern minimalist with Southwestern flair and a sense of humor — the marquee sign swaps in jokes like 'Fresh never frozen pillows' and 'Dogs welcome.'
Airstream walls are thin — bring an extra layer for winter stays and expect warmth to linger on hot summer days (it cools once the sun sets).
Why It Matters
Michelin Select designation, a genuine 1958 structure fully renovated with real design intention, and a fleet of vintage Airstream trailers that sleep two to four. Featured in Architectural Digest and the Michelin Guide's Five Getaways from Denver list.
A 1958 motor lodge turned Michelin Select boutique stay in south-central Colorado. Owners Kaitlyn Canfield and Philip Sterling gutted the place in 2016 and rebuilt it around Southwestern geometry, Tuft & Needle mattresses, and Malin + Goetz bath products. The real draw is the fleet of five named Airstream trailers parked out back — PeeWee, Merle, Velma, Diana, and Francis — sitting behind a stick fence like the world's coolest motor court.
