Ancora Cortina
Reinvented alpine classic — fashion-world sensibility meets mountain heritage. Jewel-box interiors, a speakeasy basement club, and a no-selfies policy. Think Soho House meets Dolomites.
Premium Room 507 has a roof window for stargazing above the Dolomite massifs — ask for it specifically.
Why It Matters
The oldest hotel in Cortina d'Ampezzo, completely reimagined by the founder of Diesel and Vicky Charles (former Soho House Design Director) ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics. One of very few truly luxury addresses in what will be the Olympic host city. LEED certified for sustainability.
Cortina's oldest hotel — founded in 1826 — got a full gut renovation under the eye of owner Renzo Rosso (the Diesel founder who also owns Marni, Jil Sander, and Maison Margiela) and designer Vicky Charles of Charles & Co. The result is 38 rooms and suites that trade the old-world fussiness for dark wood panelling, silk velvet, bespoke Molteni&C furniture, and Dolomite views. Right on Corso Italia's pedestrian strip, it's the only address in Cortina where you can walk out the door, grab an espresso, and be at the Faloria cable car in three minutes flat.
