Why It Matters
First Andaz in Germany and, at time of opening, Munich's only true luxury-lifestyle hybrid. The spa is the city's largest inner-city wellness space. M'Uniqo rooftop bar on floors 12-13 holds the title of Munich's highest rooftop bar, with 360° Alpine and city views. World of Hyatt Category 5 — one of the better points redemptions in Europe.
Germany's first Andaz property, opened in 2019 inside the Schwabinger Tor mixed-use quarter on Leopoldstrasse. The building integrates hotel, restaurants, spa, and creative ateliers into a single urban block that feels more like a neighborhood than a hotel. Rooms are genuinely large by European standards — even the entry-level categories start around 409 sq ft — and come with blond herringbone wood floors, custom Munich-commissioned art, Saskia Diez toiletries, and a fully stocked complimentary (non-alcoholic) minibar. The two-floor, 2,000 sq m spa with a 17-meter indoor pool and rooftop sun decks is widely considered the largest inner-city spa in Munich.
