Antonia's Pearls
Chic, unpretentious, memorably eclectic. Maritime folk art meets Cornish handmade — limewashed walls, ships in bottles, goose-down duvets. Feels genuinely personal, not hotel-polished.
Book the Sail Loft as overflow for Marine Villa — extra guests can stay there for £100 per person per night, connected by the garden path
Why It Matters
Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels listed. Set in the UNESCO World Heritage harbour of Charlestown, a village so well-preserved it regularly doubles as a film set (Poldark, various period dramas). One of the few places where you can genuinely fall asleep to waves lapping the harbour wall. The 'spa at home' and 'food from our kitchen' services mean you barely have to leave.
Four sensitively restored Grade II listed seaside villas on the quay of Charlestown, a UNESCO World Heritage harbour village in Cornwall. Owners Antonia (ex-fashion designer) and David (furniture designer and maker) moved from London and poured real craft into every room — maritime folk art, handmade carpentry, Lefroy Brooks bathrooms, and private gardens with woodburners. The properties sleep 2 to 6 and can be booked individually or combined to sleep up to 14.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Charlestown's coastal paths connect directly to neighbouring coves and beaches. The path around the headland at low tide leads to a small rock-scrambling cove and then Duporth beach. Return before the tide comes in.
The harbour provides direct access to sea kayaking along the south Cornish coast. Guests can explore the coves either side of Charlestown by water.
The harbour beaches are right on the doorstep. Pebbly at high tide, sandy at low tide, with rock pools and clear water. Sandy Duporth beach is reachable via coastal path. The water is genuinely accessible — even toddlers can make it.
Right off the harbour wall. A classic Charlestown pastime, particularly popular with children. The rock pools below the quay are excellent.
Antonia can arrange surf lessons with Tilly, a local coach who teaches all ages and abilities. Her preferred beach is Watergate Bay (35 min drive), where she hires wetsuits and boards. Hot showers available afterwards. Extra charge applies.
Antonia's Pearls hosts intimate weddings for up to 14-16 guests, combining all properties. A genuinely romantic setting with the historic harbour as backdrop.
A visiting yoga and Pilates instructor can come to your property or meet you on the beach. Arrange via Antonia with advance notice. Extra charge applies.
