Eight rooms. That's it. The name says so — AchtQuartier means 'eight quarters,' a nod to the Apollo 8 mission. This small boutique hotel sits directly on the shore of Lake Mondsee in the Salzkammergut, about 30 minutes from Salzburg, and every single room looks out over the turquoise water and the mountains beyond. Three rooms occupy a beautifully restored historic building (the old Mondsee shipping station), while five are in a sleek new wing next door. Opened in May 2024, the whole Apollo complex packs in three restaurants, a seasonal lake kiosk, a rooftop infinity pool, a Finnish sauna, a private bathing jetty, and its own passenger boat.

The Apollo complex operates the largest and most modern passenger ship on Lake Mondsee. The MS Mondseeland (24.3m long, 150 passenger capacity, 2 decks, air-conditioned panoramic cabin, on-board bar and restaurant) was fully renovated in 2022 and departs from the hotel's own jetty. Scheduled tours and private charters available — can be booked for weddings, events, birthday parties, and group outings.
