Arctic Bath
Nordic wellness meets extreme architecture. Pale birchwood interiors, soft Scandi textiles, pellet stoves, and floor heating make the rooms genuinely cosy. The whole place is quiet and intimate — only 12 rooms, so it never feels busy.

Why It Matters
It is one of the most architecturally distinctive hotels in Scandinavia. The circular ring structure, designed by Bertil Harström and Johan Kauppi and inspired by the region's timber-floating era, floats on the Lule River and freezes into it each winter. The hotel is the sister property to Treehotel, 10 minutes away by car.
Arctic Bath is a circular floating spa hotel sitting on the Lule River in Harads, a village of around 500 people in Swedish Lapland. The main building floats freely in summer and locks into the ice in winter, with an open-air cold-plunge pool at its centre. Twelve sustainably built cabins — six on water, six on land — surround it, all running on 100% renewable energy. It earned a Michelin Key in 2025.
