Argos Inn
Eccentric, artsy historic mansion. Think beeswax plaster walls, 200-year-old handmade bricks, velvet bergère chairs, and floating chandeliers over the back patio. Romantic but with real edge — this isn't a stuffy B&B.
Book the Savory Suite (302) for the clawfoot bathtub, copper vanity, cathedral ceiling, and kitchenette — it sleeps 4 and has windows facing both the Commons and the back patio.
Why It Matters
First building in Ithaca to win the Preservation League of NYS Excellence in Historic Preservation award. LEED certified with geothermal heating under the parking lot. Two destination craft cocktail bars that draw as many locals as hotel guests. Original Dalí and Miró on the walls.
A LEED-certified 1831 mansion in downtown Ithaca — formerly home to two Ithaca University presidents, then the world headquarters of Duncan Hines Foods — now a 13-room boutique hotel with two craft cocktail bars. The restoration won the 2017 Preservation League of New York State Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation. Rooms are individually decorated with whimsically refurbished antique French furniture and original 20th-century artworks by Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, and others.

The Argos Inn and Argos Warehouse host regular public events — live music performances, social gatherings, and community events in the bar and warehouse spaces. Check the events calendar on the official website.
