A LEED-certified 1831 mansion in downtown Ithaca — formerly home to two Ithaca University presidents, then the world headquarters of Duncan Hines Foods — now a 13-room boutique hotel with two craft cocktail bars. QueenRoom 102 – Blue Peacock
Smallest room in the inn at 185 sq ft, with west-facing windows. Vintage wallpaper, a leather-topped writing desk, two refurbished vintage chairs, and floor-to-ceiling velvet drapes. Stone slab bathroom floors with a rain shower. Modern amenities balanced with period character.

Light and airy first-floor room with a west-facing enclosed sun room — functions as a writer's retreat with a leather-topped writing desk. Turn-of-the-century bergère chairs reupholstered with colorful custom velvet. Stone slab bathroom floors and rain shower. Can accommodate an air mattress for a third adult.

Northwest corner of the second floor, with a tranquil feel. French-style chair with eclectic velvet upholstery, leather-topped writing desk, and a private bath with heated stone slab floors and a rain shower.
QueenRoom 203 – King Slate
One of the most striking rooms in the house. A skylight sits directly above the king bed; exposed 200-year-old handmade bricks meet a modern vanity. An enclosed porch room with a leather-topped writing desk and café corner is separated from the sleeping area by floor-to-ceiling drapes. Cozy daybed with a twin mattress for a third guest. Stone slab bathroom floors, rain shower.
KingRoom 211 – North King
One of the original bedrooms in the brick part of the mansion. Custom Queen Anne-style king bed frame, refinished plaster/beeswax walls, 10-foot ceilings, large original windows, recreated historic trim, and a dormant brick fireplace. Two 19th-century Louis XV chairs newly upholstered in colorful distressed velvet. Bluestone slab floors, rain shower, tumbled marble tile walls. NOTE: Directly above the public bar (closes 10pm).

Another original bedroom in the majestic brick section. Custom Queen Anne-style king frame, beeswax plaster walls, 10-foot ceilings, large original windows, recreated historic trim, and a dormant fireplace in the west wall. Standout modern minimalist room with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides — pure light. Crisp white design with long velvet drapes and faux furs. KingRoom 301 – Top Deck Chamber
Third-floor north wing room overlooking the Argos patio. Leather-topped writing desk, restored turn-of-the-century furniture with dynamically reupholstered chairs. Heated bluestone slab floors and rain shower. Cozy and high up — but no elevator, stairs only.
KingRoom 302 – Savory Suite
The most luxurious room in the inn. Two-room suite on the third floor with a cathedral ceiling in the bedroom, exposed handmade bricks, maple flooring, beeswax plaster walls, and a kitchenette. Large original windows look toward the Ithaca Commons in one direction and the back patio in the other. The private bathroom is a standout: clawfoot bathtub, copper vanity, bluestone slab floors, and a rain shower. Sleeps up to 4 with two cots. No elevator.
KingRoom 303 – Crown Chamber

The gorge trail connecting downtown to Cornell Campus is 0.4 miles from the inn. The creek drops 400 feet across six waterfalls; stone trails and staircases date to the 1920s.
The Argos Inn and Argos Warehouse are available for full or partial private rental — weddings, corporate events, and special gatherings. Inquiry via the inn's events coordinator.
Ithaca is a gateway to the Finger Lakes Wine Trail. The inn is well-positioned for day trips to Cayuga Lake wineries. Staff can point you toward current favorites.
A quaint third-floor porch exclusively for hotel guests, with chaise lounges and a sofa. Bring your morning latte or an evening cocktail and watch the city from above the bar crowd. Quiet hours apply 11pm–9am.

The inn is a 3-floor historic mansion without an elevator. 3rd-floor rooms require climbing stairs. Room 101 is the only ADA-accessible room.
Complimentary high-speed fiber-optic Wi-Fi throughout the inn and in all guest rooms.
A Jura bean-to-cup automatic espresso machine, tea selection, snacks, and ice are available in the first-floor solarium for hotel guests at no charge. Bottled water is stocked in every room.
