Why It Matters
A true hotel-within-a-hotel concept: guests get all 15 suites, the adults-only SPA CEò, and their own fine-dining rooftop restaurant — while also having full access to the 23.5-hectare Parco San Marco resort facilities, including a private beach, water park, and family spa. The spa alone is worth the trip: spread over three floors inspired by ancient rural terraces, it claims to be the only panoramic spa with an infinity pool in the province of Como.
ARIA Retreat & SPA is a 15-suite, adults-first enclave sitting inside the larger Parco San Marco Hotels & Beach Resort on the Italian shore of Lake Lugano. The building itself is an architectural statement — all floor-to-ceiling glass, looking straight out to the Lepontine Alps and the 40,000 m² subtropical park below. You enter via a 50-meter underground passage carved through the mountain, lit with programmable RGB light that shifts as you walk. Opened in spring 2022, it's the only property of its kind between Como and Lugano.
