Chicago
Urban lifestyle hotel — modern and social without being pretentious. The lobby functions as a neighborhood living room as much as a hotel reception, and ALK (the on-site restaurant) draws locals alongside guests.
Book a Millenium King for direct park views — the floor-to-ceiling windows make the small square footage feel generous
Why It Matters
Housed in a genuine 1916 landmark building with high ceilings that make the compact rooms feel larger than their 220 sq ft. One of the best-located hotels in Chicago for Millennium Park and the Loop, and the restaurant is a real neighborhood draw rather than a hotel afterthought.
Arlo took over Chicago's 1916 Atlantic Bank building and turned it into a 218-room downtown hotel with genuine bones — high ceilings, solid architecture — dressed up with contemporary design and smart amenities. The address is hard to beat: directly across from Millennium Park, walking distance to the Art Institute, Cloud Gate, and the Loop's business core. Rooms run 220 square feet, which is honest for downtown Chicago, and the building's heritage shows up in the details rather than the marketing.
