Albuquerque
Midcentury-modern desert aesthetic with a playful Southwest palette. Design-forward but low-key — think vibrant color-blocking, original lobby ceiling domes, local Indigenous artwork in the Secret Gallery, and a pool that actually gets used.
Request a pool-facing room — the twinkle lights and fire pit around the pool make for a memorable evening view (AAA inspector-recommended).
Why It Matters
The only ARRIVE property in New Mexico, and one of the few Route 66 properties to receive a full design-forward boutique overhaul rather than a cosmetic refresh. Opened in 2025 after full restoration of the 1965 Downtowner Motor Inn. Sits on Albuquerque's 18-mile urban stretch of Route 66 — the longest in any U.S. city — and leans into that history with Centennial programming throughout 2026.
ARRIVE Albuquerque opened in early 2025 inside the bones of the Downtowner Motor Inn, a 1965 midcentury roadside property on what happens to be the longest continuous urban stretch of Route 66 in the country. The renovation kept the six-story structure while gutting the interior: soft pinks, royal blues, and golden yellows now do the heavy lifting, alongside floral headboards, checkered floors, and local artwork throughout. It's a 137-room boutique hotel sitting across from Robinson Park in downtown Albuquerque, part of the community-rooted ARRIVE by Palisociety brand. DWTNR, the on-site bar and restaurant, is genuinely worth a visit even if you're not staying — the kitchen fuses Americana comfort food with Pan-Asian flavors, and the pool deck is one of the more convivial spots downtown.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Periodic drag brunch events hosted at DWTNR on Sundays. These are scheduled programming celebrating the local LGBTQ+ community and are advertised in advance. Check the DWTNR weekly happenings page or the hotel's social media for upcoming dates.
The outdoor pool (open May through September) has a lounge deck with chairs, twinkle lights, and a fire pit. Order cocktails and light bites directly from DWTNR poolside. Hotel guests and locals are both welcome at the pool area.
The hotel publishes a Field Guide to the best local spots in Albuquerque — artists, designers, small businesses, and neighborhood favorites. The Route 66 Centennial art tour (Route 66 Remixed) is a self-guided installation tour spanning the full 18-mile stretch of Central Avenue, created by the City of Albuquerque in partnership with Meow Wolf.
Just inside the lobby, Secret Gallery curates rotating exhibitions, live performances, and cultural gatherings focused on artists indigenous to the Southwest. The programming shifts regularly, so what's on display changes with each visit. Free to view for hotel guests and visitors.
