Art Hotel Kiebitzberg
Art-forward, family-run, nature-adjacent. Part boutique hotel, part gallery, part craft showroom. Feels personal rather than polished — handwritten welcome notes on desks, owners who walk the dining room. Not a luxury spa resort. The setting is quiet countryside on a working river.

Why It Matters
The hotel is a genuine expression of the Kiebitzberg Group's craft businesses — the furniture is made in their own carpentry workshop, the boat moorings built by their shipyard. It's on the Elbe Cycling Route, holds the German quality seal for cycling-friendly accommodation, and has on-site boat charter for river exploring. Tablet Hotels listed it for the Wagyu beef, the river location, and the wellness suites.
A family-run 4-star art hotel on the banks of the River Havel in the small Hanseatic town of Havelberg. Owned and operated by Renate and Andreas Lewerken, who built the Kiebitzberg Group around carpentry, boatbuilding, and solid-surface design — and made the hotel into a working showroom for all of it. Rotating sculptures, original paintings, and custom-built furniture fill the spaces, so the art isn't decorative wallpaper; it's structural. The restaurant Schmokenberg does seasonal regional cooking and is known for its Wagyu beef from Kuhlhausen, served on pre-order.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel has its own art gallery space with rotating exhibitions. Regular vernissages (opening events) are held on-site, often featuring regional and national artists. The hotel itself functions as a permanent showroom with sculptures and paintings throughout.
Certified cycling-friendly accommodation (ADFC quality seal) directly on the Elbe Cycling Route. Bike rental available on-site with a secure bicycle garage. E-bike charging station also available.
The hotel operates its own boat mooring and offers charter of the Raya solar boat for tours on the Havel. The hotel also manages its own jetties as part of the Kiebitzberg Group's shipyard enterprise. Sunsets from the mooring are particularly popular.
The hotel runs a year-round events calendar including jazz concerts, cabaret performances, singer-songwriter evenings, theater from the Altmark Theater, and special dinners (Dinner in White, Musical Dinner, Murder Mystery Dinner). Events are open to non-guests. Wagyu & Fire exclusive steak tastings also run seasonally.
Meeting facilities available for conferences, seminars, and incentive groups. The ballroom accommodates up to 250 people for weddings and events. Green Meeting certification available.
The hotel sits at the junction of multiple cycling and water walking routes within the Elbtalaue Biosphere Reserve and the Elbe-Havel-Winkel nature region. Walking paths directly from the property.
