Book the Séléné room if you want the in-room telescope for stargazing — the Bauges dark skies are remarkable

Why It Matters

One of the rare places that genuinely combines serious gastronomy, thoughtful wellness and real mountain character in a single small property. The Michelin-noted restaurant, the themed rooms crafted by local artisans, and the unusual spa (Ayurvedic treatments, exclusive whey bath, outdoor Nordic tubs) make it stand out in the French Alps.

A 14-room mountain inn sitting at 980m in the UNESCO-labelled Bauges Geopark, about 30 minutes from Chambéry. Every room has its own identity — designed with local artisans and named after elements of Savoyard nature, folklore or myth — yet the overall feel is warm and contemporary, not rustic-kitschy. The restaurant is Michelin-noted, the wellness space has a heated indoor pool plus outdoor Nordic baths, and there's even a unique whey bath that the property claims is the only one of its kind in France.
