Why It Matters
Le Goût du Bonheur holds both a Michelin star and a Michelin Green Star — France's only starred restaurant operating with a 100% gluten-free kitchen as its foundational principle, not a special menu. Two generations of the Sammut family have held a star at this same address. Nadia took over in 2018 and earned her own star, building a school of thought around 'Cuisine Libre®' and the Nourrir® movement connecting agriculture, food, and health.
La Fenière is a Michelin-starred auberge on a 7-hectare Provençal estate between the villages of Cadenet and Lourmarin. Third-generation chef-owner Nadia Sammut runs France's first fully gluten-free starred restaurant — not as a dietary accommodation but as the entire premise of her kitchen — while the 11-room inn operates as what the family calls a 'Place of Life': part farm stay, part culinary school, part conscious retreat. Her mother Reine earned the original Michelin star here, making this a two-generation starred house and one of the rarest continuities in French gastronomy.

Chambre Deluxe

Hands-on cooking workshops led by Nadia Sammut herself, covering her Cuisine Libre® techniques, gluten-free approaches, seasonal and plant-forward cooking, and her philosophy of conscious eating. Sessions connect participants to the kitchen's agricultural sourcing ethos. Available as part of the themed multi-night stays or as standalone events listed on the property's agenda.
Cycling routes available from and around the property through the Luberon landscape.
The property provides curated walking itineraries around the estate and through the surrounding Luberon countryside. Maps of favourite spots available from reception. Note that some forest parks are closed in summer due to fire risk — the reception will advise.
Traditional pétanque court on the property grounds. The quintessential Provençal leisure activity, available to all guests.
Customised picnic hampers prepared by the kitchen. Tell reception where you're heading and they'll adapt the contents accordingly. Includes water; soft drinks and alcohol are extra. Must be reserved the evening before before 19:00.
Organised meetings with the farmers, fishermen, foragers, and winemakers who supply the La Fenière kitchen. These sessions happen throughout the year as part of themed stays and are genuinely educational rather than touristic — the same producers feature in the restaurant menus, so you eat what you've just learned about.
Yoga mats and equipment available on request from reception. The 7-hectare estate grounds provide ample space for outdoor practice. Yoga is also incorporated into certain themed retreat stays.
