Aviator opened in 2008 on the perimeter of Farnborough's private TAG airport and immediately rewrote the rules for what an airport hotel could be. The building itself is shaped like an aircraft propeller when viewed from above — designed by Robin Partington, the British architect behind The Gherkin. Inside, walnut panelling, leather-accented furniture, and considered mood lighting do the heavy lifting. It has 169 rooms, three restaurants and bars, a fitness studio, and a vast terrace and lawn across 7 acres.

Outdoor cinema on Aviator's lawn — the hotel claims it's the only place in the UK where you can watch a film with private jets landing and taking off behind the screen. Runs over a few evenings in May.
