Azur Lodge
Contemporary alpine luxury. Warm, intimate, and genuinely personal — the staff-to-guest ratio is high for a reason. Think boutique New Zealand lodges at their best: unfussy but refined, with a serious commitment to the view.
Ask for Villa 5 — it's praised for its privacy among the nine
Why It Matters
Michelin Key 2025 recipient. Just nine villas means the staff actually know your name and preferences. Everything from breakfast to afternoon tea to in-villa candlelit dinners from local restaurants is handled for you — and the complimentary transfers mean you never need to worry about transport into town.
Nine freestanding villas perched on a hillside in Sunshine Bay, each one angled to face unobstructed views of Lake Wakatipu, The Remarkables, and Cecil and Walter Peaks. It's only a 5-minute drive to central Queenstown, but up here it feels like a different world entirely. The villas are built from stone and silver beechwood, with floor-to-ceiling glass and a spa bath positioned in a bay window so you're essentially soaking outdoors — without the cold.
