The furniture is handcrafted by Bahian carpenters, the ceramics are from a mountain town in São Paulo state, the bath products are artisanal and sulfate-free. It's thoughtful without being precious.

Why It Matters
One of Brazil's most thoughtfully designed boutique properties. Only 17 hotel suites plus a collection of multi-suite private villas with their own pools and caretaker teams — which keeps the whole place genuinely quiet and exclusive. Part of SLH's Considerate Collection for sustainability. The Barracuda Group allocates 10% of lodging revenue to the Yandê Itacaré Institute, which runs socio-environmental projects in the region. A clifftop all-suite hotel and scattered private villas set on 26 hectares of Atlantic Forest above Resende Beach. Born in 2004 when São Paulo designer Juliana Ghiotto, her husband Daniel Lima (a local surfer), and a group of Swedish friends fell hard for this stretch of Bahian coast and decided to build something worthy of it. The result is Brazilian soul filtered through Scandinavian restraint: polished concrete floors, wood-paneled ceilings, local carpenter-made furniture, and floor-to-ceiling white drapes that catch the ocean breeze instead of air-conditioning.
