Beau-Rivage Palace
Classic Belle Époque grandeur with contemporary luxury. High ceilings, gardens, formal but warm. Not a boutique hotel — this is an institution that knows exactly what it is.
Request a south-facing room: Junior Suites and Deluxe Riviera rooms look directly over the lake and Alps — the view alone is worth the upgrade.
Why It Matters
One of Switzerland's most historic grand hotels, with a two-Michelin-star restaurant helmed by Anne-Sophie Pic (the world's most Michelin-starred chef), a Guerlain Spa with indoor and outdoor pools, a private beach, and Europe's largest private urban park at a lakeside address. The hotel's 75,000-bottle wine cellar includes Lavaux vintages from the nearby UNESCO World Heritage vineyard.
Opened in 1861 on the shores of Lake Geneva, Beau-Rivage Palace is one of the last surviving grand hotels of the Belle Époque era. The property sits on a four-hectare lakeside park — the largest private urban park in Europe — with unobstructed views of the Alps and Lake Geneva. Two peace treaties were signed here in the early 20th century. Charlie Chaplin, Coco Chanel, and King Charles III have all passed through. Today it anchors its reputation on Anne-Sophie Pic's two-Michelin-star restaurant, a 1,500 m² Guerlain Spa, and 168 fully renovated rooms and suites.
