Bellevue Hotel & Spa
Old-world alpine grandeur with serious culinary credentials. Antique furniture carved by valley craftsmen, wood-panelled rooms hung with English fabrics and Valdostan lace, a wine cellar stocking 15,000 bottles. It feels like a lovingly maintained family home that happens to hold a Michelin Star and a Relais & Châteaux badge.

Why It Matters
One of the oldest family-run alpine hotels in Italy, with a 1 Michelin Star restaurant (Le Petit Bellevue, 2026), 2 Michelin Keys for the hotel (2025), a Relais & Châteaux membership since 2000, and a spa that won Best Hotel Spa in Europe at the Prix Villégiature in 2013. All powered entirely by renewable hydroelectric energy sourced from the Cogne valley.
Open since 1925 and still in the same Jeantet Roullet family four generations later, Bellevue Hotel & Spa sits at 1,534 metres in Cogne, right on the edge of Gran Paradiso National Park with direct glacier views. It's the kind of place that earns a Michelin Star in one restaurant and two Michelin Keys for the hotel itself, then turns around and invites you to soak in a 17th-century stone chalet filled with warm milk and honey. The spa alone — 1,200 sqm of pools, saunas, grottoes, and clay caves — is worth the journey.
