Why It Matters
Home to Matsuhisa Mykonos — Nobu Matsuhisa's first-ever open-air sushi bar anywhere in the world. The spa was designed from scratch by Domna Ioannidis (Rockwell Group) and opened as a Six Senses facility. The hotel was renovated over four years (2006–2010) to preserve its Cycladic character. It's the first hotel in Greece to join the Querido Hotels family. Celebs like Julie Andrews and Princess Soraya once passed through the original Mansion Stoupa.
Perched on a hill above Mykonos Town, the Belvedere is one of the island's most recognizable luxury hotels — a family-owned property built around an 1850s mansion, now spread across seven whitewashed Cycladic buildings connected by stone-paved paths and draped in pink bougainvillea. The turquoise pool at the center of the complex is the real social hub, ringed by Matsuhisa Mykonos (Nobu's only open-air restaurant in the world) and three bars with distinct personalities. It's been drawing a global crowd since opening in 1996, and the mix of genuine history, world-class dining, and a Six Senses-pedigreed spa still sets it apart from Mykonos's newer hotel builds.
