Benvengudo
Provençal farmhouse elegance. Antique furniture, warm beige tones, olive trees, pine-shaded gardens, a heated pool, and a chef-driven restaurant — it feels genuinely lived-in rather than designed by committee. Family-run without being rough around the edges.

Why It Matters
One of the original hotels in Les Baux-de-Provence, founded by a Michelin-starred chef in 1967. It has grown from five rooms to 28 without losing its family-home character. The on-site kitchen sources herbs from its own garden and olive oil from its own estate mill (Moulin Castelas), which is a level of farm-to-fork specificity you don't find everywhere.
Benvengudo started in 1967 when Maryse and Daniel Beaupied — Daniel was a Michelin-starred chef — built one of the first hotels in Les Baux-de-Provence, starting with just five rooms. Today it's a 28-room four-star boutique hotel spread across four hectares of Mediterranean gardens, still run as a family property. The name means 'welcome' in Provençal dialect, and the current generation, Carole and Viktor, have kept the Provençal furniture Maryse hand-picked while updating the rooms to contemporary comfort.
