Berghoferin Fine Hotel & Hideaway
Sophisticated Alpine private estate. Think considered collector's aesthetic: antique furniture alongside contemporary art, bold color palettes per suite, retro-chic solar-heated pool with 'Palm Springs in the Sixties' energy. Quiet and adults-focused, with real culinary ambition.
Request a suite facing south — the mountain panorama views are the whole point.
Why It Matters
One of very few genuinely intimate luxury hotels in the South Tyrol — 13 suites capping at 26 guests — with a Michelin-recognized fine dining restaurant (Die Saligen), a serious spa in Lido alpin, and a design sensibility that has earned it a Tablet Hotels collection listing. The property is a private estate; the grounds are not publicly accessible without a reservation.
Thirteen suites at 1,500 metres above sea level in the South Tyrolean hills, hard against the UNESCO-listed Geoparc Bletterbach gorge. The building dates to the 1960s and was remodelled with serious attention to detail — Josef Frank textiles sourced from Svenskt Tenn, Swiss pine panelling, Farrow & Ball in dozens of shades — into something that feels more like a very well-curated private house than a hotel. Max 26 guests at a time, by deliberate design.
