The Nest habitats are a 10-minute walk from the lobby through the forest — request a golf cart transfer if arriving late at night with luggage

Why It Matters

One of Colombia's most architecturally distinctive eco-hotels, set in the UNESCO-recognized Coffee Cultural Landscape. Each habitat is completely independent — no shared walls, no neighbors in sight — and several include private plunge pools with Andes mountain views. The hotel operates on solar energy, runs wetland water treatment, and practices permaculture on-site. The Basto Resto Bar under chef María Clara is a genuine slow-food operation drawing ingredients from its own agroecological garden.

Bio Habitat Hotel sits at the highest point of the Armenia–Circasia mountain road, surrounded by over 160,000 m² of native Andean forest in Colombia's Coffee Cultural Landscape. The 28 independent habitats — split between mountain-facing and forest-facing orientations — are glass-walled, architecturally modernist structures built on platforms into the hillside, giving the sensation of being suspended in the forest. It's part of the AKEN SOUL Collection and a partner of Sonesta International Hotels.
