Bischoffs Hotel
Industrial-meets-boutique. Warm but contemporary. Very much a family project — unpretentious and personal, not a slick corporate brand.

Why It Matters
Michelin Guide listed; the Kesselhaus restaurant has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand, Varta Diamonds, and Feinschmecker awards. One of the only design-forward boutique hotels in a region otherwise dominated by traditional Black Forest-style Gasthöfe.
Anja and Michael Bischoff opened this boutique hotel in September 2016 after gutting and converting a former brewery (Brauerei Quenzer) and the town's old cinema in the spa town of Bad Urach. The result is a genuinely individual place — industrial bones (exposed pipes, original brewery vessels) dressed up with colorful, minimalist interiors courtesy of Anja's eye for decor. Every room has a different floor plan: some are split-level, one has 4-meter ceilings, another has exposed timber beams. Michael, who trained in some of Germany's top kitchens, runs the show on the food side; Anja is sommelier, decorator, and hotel manager rolled into one.
