BONK is a five-suite seafoodbar-and-hotel that opened on July 1, 2023 inside the renovated Hotel Sint-Laureins building on the Westende dune front. Run by the tight-knit OORD WEST family — parents Charlotte and Pedro, son Maxim, and his husband Michiel — it has a bohemian coastal vibe that sits somewhere between a North Sea beach shack and an Ibiza beach club. The building itself looks, from a distance, like a Wes Anderson set piece; inside, every 50m² suite has a sea-and-dune view, a Moroccan-inflected boho decor, and a fully kitted kitchen for when you'd rather cook than go out.
