Boutiquehotel Weisses Rössl
Historic alpine boutique with modern Tyrolean edge. Black-and-white aesthetic, warm wood, and stone — not rustic kitsch, but genuinely refined. The family pedigree shows in every corner without being precious about it.
Ask for a room facing the pedestrian zone rather than the inner courtyard if you want the street atmosphere — but courtyard rooms are quieter
Why It Matters
Holds one Michelin Key. The only inn surviving from Innsbruck's legendary 'Vier-Viecher-Eck' (Four Beasts Corner) — a historic cluster of animal-named taverns. Its restaurant terrace is the only one of its kind in the entire Old Town. Family-operated without interruption for four generations.
A 600-plus-year-old inn in Innsbruck's pedestrianized Old Town, run by the fourth generation of the Plank family since great-grandfather Josef acquired it in 1919. The building packs a lot into a tight historic frame: thick stone walls, aged timber beams, and modern bathrooms clad in shell limestone and granite. Rooms are calm and grayscale, the restaurant is one of the oldest in the city, and the bar in the medieval vaulted cellar draws locals and travelers in equal measure.
