Insider Tip
1/6

Book a Balcony Studio and you get a private patio right off the pool deck — great for morning coffee but note you'll have foot traffic during pool hours.

Why It Matters

Awarded two Michelin Keys ("exceptional") — one of only three Texas hotels and 86 total in the US to earn that rating. Opened December 1, 2023, and rapidly became the social hub of Fort Worth's Cultural District, drawing locals as much as hotel guests. Owner Jo Ellard is a National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame rider who bred horses on this very site before building the hotel.

Fort Worth's only true luxury boutique hotel opened December 2023 and already has two Michelin Keys to its name. Bowie House is part art gallery, part saloon, part design showcase — 106 rooms packed with over 400 pieces from owner Jo Ellard's personal collection, a 150-year-old carved wooden bar at its heart, and a pool terrace that floats above the Cultural District. The Western references are everywhere (hat racks, boot benches, cowhide chairs) but nothing about this place feels like a theme park. It's genuinely sophisticated.
