Brach Madrid occupies a landmarked 1922 building on Gran Vía — seven storeys with a white stone facade, once home to Victor Hugo as a child and later a famous dynasty of photojournalists. Philippe Starck has turned it into a 57-room hotel that feels more like someone's impossibly well-curated private house than a conventional luxury property. The ground floor forgoes a traditional lobby entirely: instead, a Parisian-style patisserie lines the street window, and the restaurant and bar sprawl through the rest of the floor, buzzing from morning through midnight. Rooms are warm and eclectic — jatoba wood, terracotta, leather headboards, curated objects like boxing gloves and mandolins — while the basement La Capsule spa is the architectural opposite: pure white, gold-accented, and packed with biohacking tech Madrid has nowhere else.

At 30 sqm, the deluxe adds meaningful breathing room. Bold, warm seating area with terracotta-and-amber tones. Some deluxe rooms have terraces and can connect to suites. Starck's narrative is most vivid here: walls feature curated art, regional Spanish cultural references, and Picasso-esque prints alongside personal objects.

37 sqm with bathtub, upscale sofa, and city views. Two rooms have PRM (persons with reduced mobility) accessibility features including wide doorways, roll-in showers, grab bars, and lowered beds. Executive rooms and above can accommodate an extra bed (€100/night). Bathrooms feature mirrored walls with mossy-green enamelled mirrors and bronze highlights.

Brach Madrid hosts a regular series of talks and events with figures from the contemporary art world, in partnership with Carla Lariot, co-founder of the Lariot Collective.
Full access to the 400+ sqm subterranean spa complex including 20-metre marble pool, hyperbaric chamber, float tank, infrared sauna, ice bath, and steam room. Sessions bookable as day access or as part of an overnight package.
