Why It Matters

Part of the independent Hôteliers Impertinents collection, C.O.Q punches above its price point with genuinely individual room design (each Deluxe room is totally unique), a breakfast worth waking up for, and a free glass of wine at aperitif hour. It also sits in the local, tourist-light 13th — a deliberate choice.

C.O.Q stands for Community of Quality — and yes, the name also winks at the proud Gallic rooster. This 4-star boutique hotel in Paris's 13th arrondissement leans hard into French character: oil portraits of eminent figures on the walls, vintage freestanding bathtubs, and a convivial lounge that's part living room, part bar. Designed by Agence Favorite (Pauline d'Hoop and Delphine Sauvaget), the 50-room hotel opened in 2016 and feels more like a well-curated Parisian home than a hotel.

The Classique
Standard

The Classique

The entry point at C.O.Q, and honestly not a bad one. At 14 sqm it's compact — this is Paris, after all — but the designers packed it with custom-made wooden furniture, a marble sink, large mirrors, colorful cushions, and vintage accessories. The rain shower bathroom is a step above what you'd expect at this price. A 140cm-wide bed means it's cozy for two.

The Connecting
Family / Connecting

The Connecting

Two Classic rooms joined together — ideal for families or two couples traveling together. Each side has its own sleeping area and private bathroom with rain shower, so nobody is sharing facilities. Total 27 sqm. Board games are provided, and the warm wooden furniture and colorful accents carry the COQ aesthetic throughout. The only family-specific configuration in the hotel.

The Deluxe

The Deluxe

The best rooms in the house — and each one is genuinely different from the next. Room 52 has deep blue walls and a vintage freestanding bathtub. Room 21 is bright and airy with a spacious walk-through shower. Room 33 overlooks the courtyard with a luxurious rain-shower bathroom. These are the rooms that show up on Instagram. Only a handful exist, so they sell out.

The Supérieure

Three more square meters than the Classic makes a real difference when the room is this well designed. Noble materials, vibrant fabrics, thick curtains, and original handpicked artwork — each Superior room is intentionally unique. You can choose a 160cm double or two 80cm twins. The rain shower bathroom is the same quality upgrade as in other room tiers.
