Why It Matters
The only adults-only hotel in the Empordà region, with direct access to the sheltered Cala del Pi cove and the coastal Camí de Ronda path. The 600m² Lacalm Spa is included for all guests. Restaurant Almarí positions itself as a gastronomic destination for Empordà cuisine. A major two-phase renovation completed in February 2025 introduced El Xalet del Cala — a separate 19th-century cottage with three panoramic suites and the Salluna cocktail bar — adding a genuinely exclusive layer to the property.
A former summer estate perched above a pine-lined cove on the Costa Brava, Hotel Cala del Pi has been transformed into a five-star, adults-only retreat without erasing its past — the original fireplace and the door to the family wine cellar both survive the renovation. Stone terraces descend through century-old pines toward a private beach with direct staircase access, and the 2024–2025 phased refurbishment added 52 fully redesigned rooms, a new cocktail bar, and upgraded spa equipment. El Xalet del Cala — Panoramic Suites
Three suites inside a fully restored 19th-century holiday cottage (El Xalet) perched directly above the cove. Two are Panoramic Suites with open sea-view terraces; one is a Suite with distinct room atmospheres and a different layout. Guests in El Xalet access the Salluna cocktail bar, a private pool terrace, a fireplace lounge, and a billiard room. The Xalet can be booked exclusively for private events or stays. Breakfast included.
