Why It Matters
Genoa Best in Travel 2025 and an Elle Decor Italia finalist, Capitolo Riviera is the first serious design hotel to land in Nervi in decades. It's plastic-free, solar-powered (40kW photovoltaic panels), staffed entirely by local residents, and the restaurant sources fish straight off local boats. The Onde Spa connects an indoor heated pool directly to the outdoor pool — you literally swim through. And the train station is a two-minute walk.
A 37-room, 5-star boutique hotel in Nervi — a quiet coastal neighbourhood on the eastern edge of Genoa — that sits between a garden of 2,500 native plants and century-old trees and the Ligurian Sea. The building was sensitively renovated and expanded by Studio Parisotto + Formenton Architetti around a concept of 'quiet luxury': exposed reinforced concrete paired with Verezzi stone, Italian design classics from the 1970s onward, and clean indoor-outdoor lines that dissolve the boundary between the park and the rooms. Think stealth luxury, not chandeliers.
