The in-caravan showers are on the small side — most guests prefer the dedicated spa shower building with oversized rain shower heads. It's cleaner than it sounds.

There are very few places to stay in Ojai. Caravan Outpost solves that problem with a genuinely original concept: the camping nostalgia of an Airstream combined with hotel-grade linens, private bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. Ten refurbished Airstream trailers and one tiny house arranged around a lush botanical garden in downtown Ojai. Each unit sits in its own private garden nook, and the whole property feels more like a secret compound than a roadside camp. Opened in 2016 and praised by Forbes, the New York Times, and AFAR, this is comfortably the quirkiest and most photogenic place to sleep in the Ojai Valley.

Deluxe Caravan
The standard Airstream experience at Caravan Outpost. Individually decorated with a queen bed made up in high-end linens, a fully equipped kitchenette, private bathroom with shower, and a private garden patio with bistro set and lounge chairs. Some feature original vintage fittings; others are newer builds. A double foldout bed is available on request for a $35 linen fee. Air-conditioned and heated.
Queen + Optional Foldout FullDeluxe Dog-Friendly Caravan
Identical in layout and amenities to the Deluxe Caravan but designated for guests traveling with dogs. Private garden patio with extra space for pets. Same full kitchen setup, premium bedding, and private bathroom. Pet charges may apply. Air-conditioned and heated.
Queen + Optional Foldout FullFamily Caravan
The largest Airstream configuration, designed for families. Has a queen bed for adults, a full-size bottom bunk, and a tiny twin top bunk (100 lb weight limit). No pets allowed. Sleeps up to 4. Same kitchen and private bath setup as the Deluxe, with air conditioning and heat.

Tiny House
The one non-Airstream option on the property. Two levels: a main floor with a queen bed and kitchenette, and a lofted sleeping area with two twin beds (maximum clearance 4.5 ft — not suitable for adults who are tall or claustrophobic). The loft area is great for kids. Similar in footprint to the Airstreams but with wood-beamed ceilings giving it a cabin feel. No pets allowed. Sleeps 1–4.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Adult-sized bikes available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Great for exploring downtown Ojai or hopping onto the Ojai Valley Trail, which runs directly behind the property all the way to Ventura. Kid-sized bikes have also been available historically.
The Ojai Valley bike and walking trail runs directly behind the property. Guests can walk or cycle to downtown Ojai and as far as Ventura (26 miles one way) on this paved trail. Nearby hiking trailheads lead into Los Padres National Forest.
A curated boutique store on the property selling local California goods — home goods, apparel, hats (Brixton), books (including 'A Taste of Ojai' by Chef Robin Goldstein), candles, and local maker products. Worth a browse even if you're not staying.
The property promotes evening stargazing from the garden. Ojai's low light pollution and clear skies make this a genuine perk.
Communal outdoor games including cornhole and other yard games are set up in the central garden area for guests to use throughout the day.
Each caravan comes equipped with a record player and a curated vinyl collection. No TVs are provided, so this is the main in-room entertainment — part of the intentional unplug-and-slow-down ethos of the property.

Each caravan has its own private outdoor area framed by tropical plants and greenery. Setup includes a bistro set, pagoda umbrella, and lounge chairs. Some units have hammocks strung between palm trees.
