Casa Angelina
Modern minimalist luxury — white-on-white palette, curated contemporary art, furnishings by Paola Lenti, Philip Starck bathroom fixtures, Etro cotton sheets, Bang & Olufsen TVs, and Byredo/Diptyque toiletries. The word 'barefoot' appears on the website for a reason: polished but never stuffy.
Book the Terrace Room if outdoor space matters more than square footage — you get a 30 sqm private seafront terrace for the same interior size as the Grand De Luxe
Why It Matters
One of the very few Amalfi Coast hotels that leans hard into modern design rather than rustic-chic or grand-hotel tradition. The combination of a Michelin-starred restaurant (Un Piano Nel Cielo), a Michelin Key distinction for the hotel itself, Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star status, Leading Hotels of the World membership, and Virtuoso affiliation makes it one of the most credentialed small hotels on the coast. The new Paola Lenti-designed suites (Azure in 2023, Vermarine in 2024) keep the product fresh.
Casa Angelina is a 36-room cliffside hotel on the quieter stretch of the Amalfi Coast between Positano and Amalfi — and sitting in Praiano rather than either of those bigger names is part of the appeal. All-white interiors, sweeping sea views toward Capri and the Sorrentine peninsula, a Michelin-starred restaurant on the top floor, and a design ethos that keeps things spare without feeling cold. Opened in 2005 and last renovated in 2024, it's adults-only (12 and up), seasonal (mid-March through October), and genuinely intimate at 36 rooms.

How you'll actually spend your days.
A private cooking and dining experience aboard one of the hotel's boats — Neapolitan cuisine at sea level from 18:30 to 21:00. Chef Leopoldo Elefante's team brings the kitchen to the water. An unusual way to eat well and watch the coast go gold.
Group Pilates sessions held each morning at the Garden Terrace — included for all guests at no charge.
Complimentary sunset yoga sessions — the timing and the setting are hard to beat.
A guided tour of the Amalfi Coast's winding coastal road in a classic or vintage car. The hotel bills it as a retro-magic dose of la dolce vita — the road is genuinely one of the great drives in Europe.
Guided watercolor painting sessions on the hotel's private rooftop terrace, with the Amalfi Coast as the subject matter. The setting sells itself.
A guided walk through the hotel's on-site organic vegetable and herb garden with the chef, including the opportunity to pick your own vegetables.
One-on-one or small group cooking classes with Executive Chef Leopoldo Elefante. Focused on Campanian and Amalfi Coast recipes.
A guided hike along the famous Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) above the Amalfi Coast, with a stop at a local farmer. One of the most iconic coastal walks in southern Italy. Organized through the hotel concierge.
Private yacht excursions on three vessels — the flagship is Lady Angelina Gozzo 35 by Apreamare. The hotel can arrange custom tours along the Amalfi Coast, to Capri, or further afield. Organized through the concierge.
A local fishing experience on the water off Praiano — genuinely regional and low-key. Arranged through the concierge. A strong contrast to the polished hotel setting.
