Stays can be combined with a lunch reservation at Schloss Schauenstein next door — ask the team to arrange it

Why It Matters

Part of Andreas Caminada's culinary world in Fürstenau. Guests get easy access to one of Switzerland's most decorated dining tables (Schloss Schauenstein, 3 Michelin stars next door), while staying in a beautifully converted stable at a fraction of the castle hotel's price. The restaurant has its own Michelin Green Star and Bib Gourmand. Bread baked fresh daily in a wood-fired oven from seventh-generation stove builders wafts through the building every morning.

A 10-room boutique hotel that opened in 2018 inside a 300-year-old converted stable, designed by architect Gion A. Caminada. It sits right next door to Schloss Schauenstein — the three-Michelin-star restaurant and hotel run by chef Andreas Caminada — in Fürstenau, which claims the title of world's smallest city. Rooms are all larch wood, clean lines, and mountain-view balconies; the on-site restaurant holds a Michelin Green Star and a Bib Gourmand for its Grisons regional cooking.
