Book a first-floor Superior or Suite for frescoed ceilings — the second-floor Classic rooms are cozy but lose the historic drama

Why It Matters

Built inside the actual home of Carlo Lorenzini (author of Pinocchio), with first-floor suites occupying the former dining room and ballroom of the Palazzo Ginori. The annual ART•ISAN residency program brings master Florentine artisans and international artists together on-site, producing limited-edition objects — including a collaboration with Arno Studio for a linen kimono — making the hotel part art gallery, part cultural incubator.

Casa G. Firenze occupies the historic Palazzo Ginori on Via Rondinelli, steps from the Duomo and Santa Maria Novella. The noble Ginori family — yes, the porcelain dynasty — owned this palazzo for centuries, and it later became the home of Carlo Lorenzini, who wrote Pinocchio here. Restored in 2022 by architect Cecilia Pantaleo, the property now runs as a 15-room boutique hotel that genuinely feels like staying in someone's very well-appointed Florentine apartment. No restaurant, no gym, no pool — but a 24-hour honesty bar, two plant-filled patios, frescoed ceilings on the first floor, and a breakfast room lined with original Ginori porcelain.

Where You'll Stay

5 room types available

Classic
Standard Double

Classic

On the second floor, these are the most intimate rooms in the hotel. Each one has its own distinct personality through textiles and decor — some lean green, some deep red. Bathrooms are fitted with hand-crafted tile work and marble showers. Tight on space but heavy on atmosphere.

Cozy

The smallest room in the house — 12 sqm, so genuinely compact. But it gets the same care as everything else: a French bed with a good mattress, antique pieces, and a rooftop view over the Florentine skyline. Solo travelers get the character without paying suite prices.

Superior

The sweet spot for most guests — 25 sqm with room to breathe. Some have frescoed ceilings (first floor), others open onto a private garden. Mix of antique and vintage pieces, art collections on the walls, and bathrooms with shower; some also have bathtubs. Enough variety across the Superior category that it's worth asking which specific room you're getting.
