Why It Matters
Newly opened on the footprint of a beloved historic refuge, Casa Guargnè was purpose-designed with custom furnishings and a Loro Piana colour collaboration. It sits on the Michelin Guide selection and Tablet Hotels roster despite being brand new. The Starpool-designed wellness area and a restaurant open to outside guests give it genuine draw beyond just a place to sleep.
Casa Guargnè is a 13-room boutique hotel on the site of the historic Rifugio Guargnè, transformed by architect Ambra Piccin into a contemporary alpine retreat. The colour palette was developed in collaboration with Loro Piana and leans into cherry wood floors, fir panelling, camel and white tones, with a signature 'Cortina Blue' — the same shade used by Louis Vuitton — running as an accent through the interiors. It sits in the Verocai hamlet, about 600 metres west of Corso Italia, which is close enough for a quick walk into town but far enough that you actually sleep.

Reinterprets Nordic style with a light touch — Loro Piana-inspired palette, light woods, warm tones. Mountain view. Small, but the aesthetic is coherent enough that it doesn't feel like a budget compromise. The double bed is 160 x 190 cm, so not a full king.

This is where the balcony appears. Warm colours, natural fabrics, refined furnishings — plus a private balcony with mountain views. The bathroom is light-filled with a walk-in shower. Good value step-up from the Superior.

Family-friendly configuration with a king-size and a single bed, balcony overlooking the peaks. Exposed beam ceilings visible in gallery photos. Good for a couple travelling with one child, or three friends who can handle sharing a bathroom.

Combines a Single and a Superior into one interconnected space — two private bathrooms, which is a genuine differentiator for families. Same 28 sqm footprint as the Grand Deluxe but with two bathrooms instead of one large one. Note: no balcony mentioned, unlike the Grand Deluxe.

The top standalone room category. Spacious, with a proper sitting area (sofa), panoramic balcony overlooking Mount Tofana and the ski slopes, and the only room type confirmed to offer both shower and bathtub. Fits three guests. Worth the upgrade for the view alone.

The smallest room in the house, and at 11 sqm it is genuinely compact. But the cherry wood flooring, natural tones, and soft lighting keep it from feeling claustrophobic. Ideal for solo travellers who mostly plan to be out on the slopes or trails. Hill view, not mountain.
