Casa Newton
Rural rosso residence — 1970s-inspired interiors, bold pattern wallpaper, original contemporary Italian art, and a retro-chic pool with bubblegum-pink parasols. Relaxed but decidedly not casual.

Why It Matters
An architect-owned former family home where every room is named after a historical Newton family child, doubling as a showcase for the owners' contemporary art collection, and sitting on top of a working biodynamic winery. No two rooms are the same, and the farming and wine connection goes well beyond marketing.
Casa Newton is a crimson-walled, 1846 country house on the Fabbrica Pienza wine estate, sitting at the highest point of the property with sweeping UNESCO Val d'Orcia views between Montalcino and Montepulciano. It's technically an agriturismo, but forget the rustic-budget connotations — Swiss architect and co-owner Antonie Bertherat-Kioes has woven mid-century furniture, purpose-woven fabric walls, and Venetian coverings through all 11 rooms, and the result feels more like staying in a well-curated private home than a hotel. The same family owns the Fabbrica Pienza winery next door, which means the wine at dinner is genuinely estate-grown.
