Ask for a room with garden views — the botanical garden at night, lit up against the walls, is something else

Why It Matters

Selected by Tablet Hotels and listed in the MICHELIN Guide Hotels. Former home of a prominent Antalya painter. One of the few Kaleiçi properties where every single room is individually designed with a distinct concept. The botanical garden pressing up against a 2,000-year-old city wall is genuinely rare.

Casa Sur sits just inside Antalya's ancient city walls in the Kaleiçi old town district, steps from Hadrian's Gate. The property was once the home and exhibition space of Muhittin Selamet, one of Antalya's most celebrated painters — and that artistic soul still runs through every corner of the place. Each room has its own named concept and design language, so you're never just checking into a generic box. Out back, a botanical garden planted with orange, tangerine, and banana trees runs alongside the ancient Roman-era walls. It's a genuinely small operation: intimate, idiosyncratic, and deliberately anti-chain.

Where You'll Stay

8 room types available

Arbol
Double Room

Arbol

Bosque (forest) inspired — the walls literally come alive with the design. Arbol means 'tree' in Spanish, and the concept runs through the whole room. One of the newer, more immersive concept rooms at the property.

Cálida
Double Room

Cálida

The name means 'warm' in Spanish and the room delivers on that. Cozy and comfortable, this concept leans into warmth and charm above all else. Designed for guests who want to feel wrapped up rather than wowed.

Ecléctica
Double Room

Ecléctica

Exactly what the name suggests — historic atmosphere colliding with modern design. This room probably best captures the hotel's overall design DNA: ancient and contemporary, rough and refined, all in one space.

Épica
Double Room

Épica

Classic stance with a warm atmosphere. The design language here draws on tradition and timeless forms. A more formal aesthetic than some of the other rooms, but still unmistakably Casa Sur in its personality.

Natura
Double Room

Natura

Surrounded by warm earthy colors, Natura is described as the second gateway to naturalness after the botanical garden itself. Massive wooden stumps are used as decorative elements throughout. Spacious, peaceful, and authentic in feel. Comes with a sofa and coffee maker — a step up in amenities.

Planta
Double Room

Planta

Natural tones and organic elements define this room. If Natura is the warm earthy take on nature, Planta leans more botanical and plant-forward. Quietly designed and grounding in feel.

Rústica
Double Room

Rústica

One of the hotel's standout rooms. Decorated in harmony with the historic stone architecture, it features decorative antique items and a high bed hand-carved from solid wood. The highlight is a freestanding elegant bathtub. A short journey to ancient times without leaving your room.

Urbana
Double Room

Urbana

The urban concept pulls from the historical feeling of Kaleiçi's streets rather than the garden and walls. Sleeker and more city-inspired than the other rooms. Some rooms in this vein feature rough-hewn stone walls as the dominant element.
