Casas Brancas Boutique - Hotel & Spa
Laid-back Mediterranean luxury. Think white walls, natural wood, ochre arches, hammocks on balconies, and hummingbirds in the courtyard garden. Hipness without fuss — no hyper-modern design statements, just well-chosen details and genuinely warm service.

Why It Matters
Named Best Boutique Hotel in Brazil by the World Travel Awards 2023, Best Breakfast in Latin America 2024 by Condé Nast Johansens, and Best Spa Hotel in Latin America 2025. Listed in the Michelin Guide to Búzios in 2024 — its 50th anniversary year. The kitchen overhauled and expanded that same year with executive chef Filipe Santos. Virtuoso member. Family-run since day one, now managed by founder Amalia's daughter Luisa and son Santiago.
Casas Brancas opened in 1974 as a four-bedroom hilltop house, and the family has been adding rooms ever since — one terrace, one courtyard, one floor at a time. The result is 33 individually decorated rooms spread across whitewashed Mediterranean-style buildings perched above Orla Bardot, all looking out over Armação Bay. It feels less like a hotel than a very stylish friend's house that happens to have a spa, two restaurants, and a heated infinity pool. Brigitte Bardot put Búzios on the map in the 1960s; Casas Brancas has been one of the best reasons to visit ever since.
